I’ve been using a steam room for a few months. I go about 3 times a week for 15 minutes each time.

I really don’t know what the hell I’m doing but I like to sweat bullets with no effort. It makes me feel as though I’ve done something. I feel relaxed when I finish too.

Wondering though what the actual health benefits are and how often I should be doing it or if I need to limit it or cut it out completely. I read some stuff about harm to adrenal glands due to the loss of fluid.

Wow

That video is the best endorsement of the benefits of sauna heat on our health that I have ever seen.

Thanks!

I own an infrared sauna and rarely get in it. If I had a steam room I’d do it daily for sure, especially if it was proximal to my shower. Sauna has more health benefits, but the steam just does something for my sinuses and I love being able to absolutely go all out sweating at once rather than spending 30 minutes in sauna to get there.

Infrared sauna helps a lot with arthritis pain.

I’ve had a sauna for almost 20yrs and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I just hit the hot rocks if for more steam, but if you want to go turbo, get a little $10 clothes steamer and fire it up. I do that in the winter on really cold days.

I watched part of that clip and convinced me to increase the sauna duration. Sometimes I go for 10 minutes after a workout but sounds like upping to longer could have huge benefits.

I believe the longitudinal study she referenced said the temperature was 176 degrees for 30 min or so.
