I’ve had mild pain in my left AC joint for 6 months on and off. I stretch and it feels ok for work outs. When it’s really irritated, I lay off it for at least 2 weeks. I guess it’s more discomfort than pain. Any recommendations for complete relief? (X-rays negative)

Most likely direct injection and some more rest or at least only light exercise a while.

is it normal that the pain comes more after bench press, and shoulder workouts feel fine after?

Yes that’s normal. If you get injected tell them to hit your biceps tendon too. I dealt with this for a while.

I work in surgery and got a pain md to do it. But go see an orthopedic. They’ll give you some Duexis probably and then if it doesn’t go away may inject it.

Bench press is the absolute worst thing you can do for an a/c joint. Do extra sets of trap work to help take pressure off the joint. If you have to do some sort of bench, keep your elbows in and palms facing each other
