Simple Free-Weights/Machine Workout Plan for (old) "Triathletes"

I'm not technically a triathlete yet, but I run, swim and bike a lot. I plan to start combining the three soon.
Those things + skiing, climbing, paddling, and hiking/walking and a few pushups keep me in pretty good shape. I suck at pull-ups but would like to be able to do them, especially for climbing strength (I suck at climbing too).
Anyway, I want to mix in some strength and toning workouts. I don't want to get swolt.
And I don't want to deal with any boxes or WODs. And I don't and won't have a spotter. I don't want to do anything where I risk fricking up my back--it is very susceptible.
I'm thinking I can work in 3 relatively short gym workouts a week.
Any suggestions? I want something simple I don't have to think too much about. thanks!

if you are that involved in the outdoors, have you ever researched MovNat?
I think might like it based on the OP

Maybe some high bar squats and TRX stuff? Farmers carry could help your grip a ton.

i had not. just did. very interesting. thx!
i used to make fun of my friend who would walk around the woods near our house and pick up large rocks and throw them, as his workout. but i secretly thought it was a great idea.
Bill Murray agrees
