Went for my annual wellness checkup today.
Dr. recommended getting shingles vaccine.
Do any of my over 50 year old Tigerdroppings friends get the shingles vaccine?

I managed to get shingles 3 times while I was young. Pretty rare. Still not old enough for the vaccine. I'd highly recommend the vaccine over Shingles. That sucked bad.

I got mine last year after getting a mild case. Shingrex is a 2 shot series. Shot itself isn’t bad but the area where you get it can swell and be painful. The first had that after effect but second was way better. Had shots 3 months apart. Insurance covered in full.

I've actually had it 5 times now, and im 35. four times were in the exact same spot on my left hand. the doctor told me it was stress induced. three of the times happened in 2019. once after my bachelor party, once the day of my wedding, and once the day after my step father was diagnosed with colon cancer. I need to get that fricking vaccination.

My Mom, in her 60s, just got shingles after dealing with some stress from my Grandmother being sick and she herself having a bad, bad case of poison ivy with multiple rounds of steroids.

She’s waiting for the time to lapse post-shingles to get the vaccine. She was in a lot of pain from them as they followed one of her cervical nerves and resulted in horrible headaches on top of the regular shingles pain.
