Schwinn Airdyne Pro recommendations (Update)

Have been doing a lot of research and I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a Schwinn Airdyne Pro exercise bike. My main goals are to improve my cardio and overall health. Does anyone have any experience with them or own one? I have seen online that they are used in some Crossfit types of competitions, so I figure it should be decent quality.

Get an Assault Bike instead of the Schwinn if the prices are the same.
Intervals on the assault bike kick the shite out of you.
ETA: Assault Bikes are $200 cheaper than the Schwinn Airdyne Pro.

Can you tell a difference between the two from a quality standpoint?

I have an assault bike at the house and it's a sturdy piece of equipment.
Nearly all at our gym use the Aasult Bike over the 3 other bikes (older Schwinns), and Assault Bikes are used at most major CrossFit competitions, too.

Thanks for the info. Now you have me looking at the Assault Elite
It's $2000+ though.

The regular Assault Bike will kick your arse plenty. I guess the Elite will be a gold plated arse kicking.

dont go airdyne, they are not built to the quality that the air assualt, air mil or xebex bikes are.
Xebex is a heavier duty version of the assualt bike but still has the same crank issue after repeated intervals over years of time. The air mill fixed this issue. All three bikes measure everything the same.
for the record i have a xebex bike and an old school air dyne. Also have lots of expierence on an assualt bike. If i had to rebuy right now it would be the air mill bike.

Thanks for all of the input guys! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Airmill. I got one on sale at www.getrxd.com for $600. $683.97 total with shipping. Saw some pretty good reviews on youtube. Looks like they beefed up some of the failure areas from other fan bikes. Seems like the best bang for the buck out of the ones I was considering. I am eagerly awaiting it so I can start to get back into cardio shape.

I was coming here to post that getrxd had the airmill on sale. Right down the street from my house...good company.

I have the regular assault bike and that thing is a tank. If my house burned down, I'd replace it in an instant I love it so much.

i believe you will be more than happy with the purcahse. i have the xebex rower also and have had extensive use of the c2 rower and they are both very comparable with the xebex being a little heavier duty but the c2 having the much better monitor. Having said that, I almost always find myself using the bike over the rower. for HiiT nothing beats the air bike, nothing.

Yeah, i'm pretty excited about getting started. Gonna be a long 2 weeks or so (shipping estimate).

Update:
Just got my Airmill in yesterday. The assembly was super simple. If you have any mechanical aptitude at all it is a breeze. Getting it out of the box was arguably the hardest part.
Did my first workout this morning and all I can say is this thing is a beast. I rode for 30 minutes and it was challenging. Not quite ready for interval training yet since I am in such bad cardio shape. It feels solid as a rock, you can feel the craftsmanship is superb. I am so pleased that I got this bike and for a steal at $600.
