Because that’s not what the dive screen looks like on a Garmin.

Well I don't want to argue about it, but I got that right off Garmin's website, and it sure looks like a dive read out to me. If not, Garmin does a piss poor job of advertising its products.

What ya got?

1. He asked about a running watch, which has nothing to do with what you’re talking about it

2. You can customize screens on a garmin watch. I dive with mine, my screen looks nothing like that.

You picked the fourth image off the Mk3i's site. If you look at the second and ninth image, they're both nearly identical to the one you posted.

Also, the image you showed depicts the location of other divers relative to your location and their PSI. Not sure if the Apple Watch is able to do that.

but hey, you do you.

The thread discussed other functions of the various watches that make them more useful than just for running.

I did, he brought up something totally pointless and then wasn’t even right about his side track

You would have had to scroll through a few photos of the actual dive screen watch to arrive at that image. There are multiple photos on Garmin’s website for the Descent Mk3i.

OP, this is why you should buy a Garmin or Coros. You wouldn’t want to be grouped in with people like TigerGman here.

I started with the 305, went to the VivoActive, then landed on the Apple Watch for its multifunction abilities. When my Apple Watch SE was on its last legs, I used my 305 as a backup (after having it refurbed). Mine and my wife's both still work after refurb.

I looked at the 265 before going to the Apple Watch 10. But the seamless syncing between my Apple Watch and the Health app, Strava, etc. and the HIIT, swim (I think it has this function), onboard iTunes, etc., just made staying with Apple the easy choice.

I like my Garmin cycling computer, and it syncs well with the Connect app, but the metrics outside of power, elevation, HR, speed, and cadence, are overkill for me. And it reminds me of how shitty I am after a ride. At least my Apple Watch doesn't do that.

That's cool for the location deal, but I assume the other divers have to have a Garmin, too. And that is not very likely based on my experiences for the last 7 years.

Also, as for the PSI, my main Computer is Scuba Pro Hud, so it has PSI too. I just wear the Apple Ultra as a backup since I already own one.

I'm rocking the Garmin Fenix 7 pro. Love it. I switched from a Samsung.

He asked about a running watch. My response, and others, was that an Apple watch works just fine. Plus, look at all the dozens and dozens of other things it can do that a Garmin can't. So why not get something WAY more functional and beneficial? My example was the Dive computer function, which a Garmin can do. But if you'd like, I can post a LONG list of all the other functions an Apple watch does that a Garmin can't.

I'll take that as a No. You'd rather I not post a list of everything an Apple watch can do that a Garmin can't.

As it will only serve to embarrass you...

I could give two fricks. I turned all notifications on my garmin off. Happy you can keep up with your boyfriend’s sister’ babysitter on Facebook through your watch though

This. I switched from a smartwatch to a garmin because it doesn't have all that other BS. I don't need it. I have a phone for those things, and I always found smartwatches cumbersome and lacking. I just need a purpose-built fitness watch/GPS that holds charges for a long time. If I'm going off-grid for a few days, I don't have to worry at all.

Two awesome things my garmin has that apple/samsung/google don't: a flashlight and solar charging. I honestly didn't even consider the flashlight when I bought it, but damn, I use that thing all the time. Super convenient.
