Anyone rather do a ruck march vs a run? Got in a good one this morning and although it wasn't anything long, maybe 6 miles, it was worth it for the end result.

What’s the difference between a ruck and a run? I’m obviously not military.

Heavy weight on your back for the duration. Most people doing ruck will get some short sporadic runs in though too.

I’ve been really wanting to do a “Go Ruck” event.

They have a BR Ruck 2018 event in oct, I believe. Someone sent me something on it but I haven't looked at it.

I've done some ruck marches because I had to but the Hero's Hump each year is a 100% want to!

Absolutely. Over the years, running has gotten incredibly boring for me. But not rucking. Also like Assault Pack + Slick Armor or Full Kit Shuffle for ~6-10mi and Max Load 4 milers in hills/mountains.

my running group wants to do the Bataan Ruck. i'd be excited if it wasn't 9 hours away in NM.

i'm more interested in running than hiking or a slow jog, even though i enjoy both. since i do as much trail running as i do, it's pretty hard to go on slow hikes, but i'd guess doing 26 miles with 40 lbs on your back would nip that in the bud

Bataan is a great event. Every year they try to get as many survivors as possible to be at the start point. You can go through and shake their hands and say hello to them as you make your way to the start. It is........humbling. I'm not sure any of them are left.

Go to the website. I think you can sign up to be notified when registration opens for next year's event. It's a worthwhile experience.
