Seems I have developed an inguinal hernia and need to have it repaired. Has anyone here gone through this and have any experience for how long recovery will take?

I've stopped doing lower body, squats and deadlifts, and do upper body, mobility and some flexibility as well as low intensity steady state cardio. Not too bad though the burning is a bitch.

What am I looking forward to?

Had it done as a kid over 20 years ago. Recovery time for getting back to doing rough and tumble 4th grader stuff was a couple of weeks. I remember having to wear loose fitting pants, walked gingerly for the first couple of days, and took it easy while washing the area...I had some type of plastic covering with an air bubble over the actual stitches for a few days.

All in all it wasn’t a big deal, but yeah I’d imagine 2-3 weeks if you really want to be safe and not rip anything open when bracing.

I found out a couple of years ago that I have one. Sometimes think I can feel it but never completely sure. Therefore, planning to wait until it bothers me. Hopefully a decade plus from now. Then again, waiting might make the recovery tougher since I’d be in my 50s.

Well I'm 66 and was currently doing Beyond 5-3-1 version 1.1

I know I can feel it....doesn't keep me from doing lifts or cardio......it's evident when feeling the area and the burning, not constant, is hellacious when it happens.

Does doing upper body or lower body put more stress/strain on it? Just hate having to sit out for recovery.
