This is one of most painful ailments I have ever experienced. Looks like I'm down for awhile any home remedies you can pass along would be grateful. Haven't been to a doctor yet, my newest grandson in law will be over tomorrow and is a practicing PT will get some more advice. Been putting ice and taking Tylenol's to ease the pain. Happy New Year.

Depending on the severity, it could linger for months.
I tweaked a groin/hamstring on a Tuesday and shut everything down until the following Monday, and I was fine.
However, I’ve had one linger for 4-5 months. Longer warmups would allow me to workout, but it stayed with me for a while.
A Dr told me that any groin strain is considered a hernia whether you show a true hernia (bulge at the site) or not.
Take it easy.

I've had two hernia surgeries, the first using mesh to fix, the second to fix the bad mesh. The pain feels somewhat the same this time, but no bulge in the area were the pain is. First thing I looked for when it started to hurt. Seems a little lower than the hernias I had before.

I shredded my groin July 2019 doing treadmill sprints.
I did two things that really helped to the point I didn’t miss much of a beat even being out 6-8 weeks depending on the activity.
1. Squat University’s “How to Fix the Pulled Groin” I did this as my rehab and it worked very well.
2. Battle Ropes became my best friend. Didn’t lose much conditioning but crushed myself on the ropes.
Good luck man. It’s a brutal injury. I still felt it lingering up until this last summer - a full year later.

My left nut hurt for two months. Don’t pick up anything over 10lbs for a while.
