I’m considering getting X-rays of my knees to check for any impending doom. They feel iffy sometimes, so I’d like to know if it’s real or all in my head. It might be something I do on a yearly-ish basis.

Crazy? Smart? Crazy smart? What do you think?

I’m 69 and I am thinking my left knee may have a slight issue. After a Grand Canyon Rim To Rim hike it began to feel odd, maybe not as tight as the right one. Sooooo, with that said, sure I think you should have them checked out. I’ll be asking my doc about my left knee.

Xray won't tell you shite. Would have to get an mri but unless you have a tear it's not gonna show.

Start implementing knees over toes stuff. Email me if need be.

This isn’t true at all if arthritis is the concern. You can see bone on bone in xray imaging if it’s there. Arthritis and total joint replacements seem to be rearing it’s head a lot more often in the early 40’s patient population now. See an orthopedic doctor and get checked out.

I took his comment to be more ligament issues which xray is useless for.

More like overall health and stability of the soft tissue in the knee. Is an X-ray really worthless?

for this

stability of the soft tissue in the knee.

yes

need mri for that.

but a simple exam with a knowledgable doc should tell you if you have instability.

my suggestion is still knee over toes stuff added to your programming.

I’ve been doing his VMO or teardrop squat, but not the other stuff. Need to add it to the routine.

Yeah, that's the plan. Was just wondering what other folks do to monitor their knees.
