Checking back in after Sunday's race. Was able to go sub 2 at 1:57. Confident I can push harder in the future. Shifting my focus to LA Marathon prep. Only 14 weeks away.

I did what I thought I would do, which was just a slow day for me. Also had a few cramps around mile 11. Thats what I get for drinking 6 beers while watching the game. LA marathon is next for me as well and I must get my act together! Good luck on your end and congrats on your run!

Ran the Mcneese 5k gallop this past weekend and finished with a new PR of 23:05. Set my PR for two mile also with a 14:45.
Have a 10k next weekend hoping to be under 54m
Half marathon in Dec hoping for under 2h20m

If you are running a 5K at 23:05. Even with a slower pace for the distance with training you should smash a sub 2 half.

There are different schools of thought in terms of even spilts or negative splits. I have personally found negative splits to work better for me. Just build that endurance up. Easy runs go a long way to build up your endurance.

I feel stronger when I progressively get faster during runs but never for that pace. If im going for a PR it seems every time that the speed is gained at the front

Did my long run prep today, longest ive gone so far.
Did 10.94 miles this morning with a 9'14" pace finished in 1h40m40s, last two miles were the fastest of the day.
Plan on getting a 12 mile in during november and the rest of the time just working on improving

Ran 12 easy pace on Saturday as soon as LSU game finished. Warm enough to break a small sweat, but cool enough to be comfortable the entire time.

Went for a run few weeks ago and believe i strained my right calf. Ive been gingerly walking on it since then and afraid that I could reaggravate it my next run. Obviously going to give it more time to heal, but what do you all recommend to prevent injury from happening again? Compession sleeve work?

Compression sleeve helped me along with a shite ton of stretching and walking around barefoot or in no drop flip flops all day. And not doing sprints anymore because I'm too old for that.
