This time last year I still couldn't break a 20 min 5K.

Really? That's crazy. Anxious to see how BnG and I fare this Saturday in our 5K. I've been fighting a cold all week, but finally coming around today I think. Thinking sub 19 ish MAYBE, but damn I'm not looking forward to it. Weather looks fine and the course is flat as a board, but has some turns. Really small race as only 100 ish people ran it last year.

I think you might surprise yourselves. I’ll be rooting for you and am super excited to see what you guys do.

First time breaking 20 last year wasn’t until last September. 19:20 ish on a short course. I wasn’t fricking around when I said I have no natural talent. However, I am willing work very hard to reach my goals.

Burt got that stache
No thanks I’ll pass
I mean that beard
He’s to be feared
Sub 16
And mighty lean
Hot as balls today
Somehow I led the way
BnG right behind
That extra gear we couldn’t find
1 and 2 in age group
Was 2 pounds heavier this am, and no poop
Done till the fall
But mileage will not be small
Good luck HB
Sub 2:30 I wanna see!

Roots just outwilled me today and got the better of me by 20 seconds or so. I'm going to say it was due to home road advantage.

Nice job boys. Heck of a showing, both of you.

Work and willpower for waking up and not drinking badly have gotten the better of me the last 2 weeks.

Hopefully this trip to Colorado will kickstart some better behaviors.

I hear ya. I haven’t really stopped drinking since the post race beers today. My wife and I just added it up, 1,200 cals of beer for me. Been awhile since I’ve done that. Long hot run in the am should be fun.

Holy hell. The path I set out on was just straight climb for the first 2 miles. Then I went up a trail hill till my lungs told me to GFY.

Return was nice but probably not the best idea to climb first thing in the morning after landing at midnight last night. 5200 foot elevation change messes with you.

Looks like HB is going to do it! For anyone else watching, anyone else wonder what happened to 53 year old Janet Zimmerman who was cheating *clears throat* I mean leading the field.
