Need help with the last few pounds
Long story short... I weighed 275 in January. I'm now down to 215 with a lifestyle change of diet and exercise. I look and feel like a new man, but the thing I need help with is losing the last 15-20 pounds that I'd like to lose. It's all in the belly and upper thighs. Is there a way to isolate and burn this off or do I just need to continue the course I've been on and give it time?

What have you been doing?

I'd say counting calories is the way to go. If you're already doing that, just stay consistent.

No way to isolate that fat. It will come off when it comes off given enough weight loss. I understand the frustration. I carry all my fat in my upper body and my muscle in my lower body. Stomach is the last thing to go for us.

I use MFP which is a godsend, given that I have the right caloric info.

I was in the same boat.

Diet is the most important, so if you have that down, cardio, HIIT sessions and core exercises will take it off in no time.

if you are counting calories, one thing i have found is that if you are eating at a deficit for a long time and your metabolism starts to slow it can be beneficial to do a reverse diet for a little bit to boost the metabolism back up. i add about 50 cals to my daily total per week and keep monitoring the scale. from there you can eat at maintenance for a while or go back into a cut. this might be anecdotal but i typically drop a pound or two when i add cals the first couple of weeks.

I've definitely been cutting calories to a big deficit. It's kind of just become my norm now. I'll try to add some healthy calories in and continue my cardio workouts.
