i train in group settings, and that allows you to learn from not just your deficiencies, but other peoples. I have seen many people who's form is fine, but by doing glute and hamstring activation prior to squatting, their throttle really opens up.

maybe his form does suck. But the feeling of lacking power does not automatically mean that

I might have misread yours. Doing some strafe with bands is nice to get the idea of activation. I'm more of talking about deficiencies in the muscle and doing alternate exercises.

You don't hit the numbers he is hitting with shitty form. It's an activation/mind muscle connection issue.

He has sent me his form also, granted almost a year ago, but form is fine.

you can absolutely hit good numbers with shite form. I've seen people pull 700 with shite form. Back hurting is usually a sign of not getting tight enough and bracing.

And to be fair, I never said he had shitty form. I just said it was improper form.

and OP... Don't think I'm trying to rag on you or anything. I want to help you as much as I can. However, the problems are usually in form if the programming and the diet is in check.

I also came across as a dick in second response. My apologies OP.

Don't ever think your form is perfect. I've watched a 500 raw bencher get taught how to bench properly. If you can't be humble like that, you will never get to an elite or advanced level.

Stretching to get the right amount of mobility and not overly doing it, doing some warm ups that activate the mind to muscle (cat/camel, strafe with bands), and practicing proper form will help tremendously with hip power. Doing KB swings, one leg exercises and so on will not help when you have 400+ pounds on your back or in your hands. It just doesn't transfer. You gotta get under that weight and feel the thing. shite just goes right out the window.

Also can't tell from a light load set. All that shite goes away with heavy weights typically.
