Another question- how common is it that folks need to take estrogen blockers while on TRT? Wouldn’t your body tend to overcompensate estrogen production if all of a sudden your test skyrockets?

For most it equalizes and you don’t have to take aromitize inhibitors unless you start showing symptoms.

Many well meaning providers prescribe an AI but unless you are really showing symptoms, shouldn’t take it

At trt levels, hell even at 500 mg/week, 95% of people will not have issues and need an AI

Zero negative sides other than scar tissue now that I have been on for almost 10 years but I had no choice, was below 100 ng/dl after my fertility treatment at 32 years old.

Nothing but positive effects, can it suck taking the shot at times…sure

I give myself the shot, see doctor once a year and do blood work at mid year mark.

I take 2x per week

It makes no sense the feds choose to classify this as a controlled substance. Y’all should be able to abuse your bodies like you want to. It’s obvious from the posts that you folks are not concerned about any significant medical needs; just your wants. Y’all should be able to stop being a burden to the already overwhelmed healthcare system and just be able to have at it.

I agree we should be able to take if we want but pretty sure having normal levels for a 40 year old isn’t abuse. But believe what you want…..just like I believe you are a cock sucker

AI’s are wayyyy over prescribed. A lot of these cookie cutter clinics will automatically put people on one and they end up bottoming out their E2 feeling like dog shite. You want your E2 as high as possible without side effects. It’s cardio protective, neuro protective, helps with joints and sexual drive.

Back 3-4 yr ago a MD had me on clomid for fertility and 1mg Arimidex 3x/wk. I felt completely awful and turned into the biggest insecure pussy you’ve ever met. Luckily since then I’ve done my own research and now know better. 90% of providers know jack fricking shite about HRT. It’s pretty sad.

And you give yourself the shots? Man that would freak me out but I'm a puss with needles

I use 29 or 30 or 31 gauge insulin syringes and if you didn't see it go into the skin you'd never feel it. I get a box of 100 for ~$15 on amazon. They can be a little tougher to draw the oil-based T but warming the vial in your pocket or window sill prior to drawing make it a lot easier. Some use a bigger bore to draw and then switch via luer lock (changable needle) to a smaller gauge needle but that's more trouble that it's worth to me.

Jack you already know this but for the person you answered: Jack's right, avoid AI's like the plague, more downside than they're worth. One of the ways a lot of guys I know on the TRT boards address the issue is by pinning smaller doses more frequently, like every other day instead of 1-2x week.

LOL, same experience - the HRT specialist I started with after my PCP said I was "normal" asked if I was interested in trying clomid first. I wasn't familiar with it then so thought, sure why not. I'll tell you why not: after taking that for a couple months I can now fully empathize with what women feel like with severe PMS, it was awful. YMMV, but for me I wouldn't touch the stuff again for anything.

So what are yalls thoughts about the gels or patches as compared to injectable? Id assume not as good, but still work well right?

Absolutely. You've got to take control of managing your own health care and be fully informed even WITH a HRT doctor who knows more than a PCP (which isn't saying much). The first HRT specialist I saw was great for a while, but after one of my labs show my hematocrit literally one point above range he freaked out and wanted to reduce my dosage. I said, "yeah but we live at 9,000 ft elevation and isn't elevated hematocrit common at higher elevations? He drew himself up and huffed out "which one of us went to medical school?"

I fired him on the spot.

But back to Jack's point, it sometimes helps to have a good HRT doc while you're getting equalized and optimized, but after that I know a lot of men who source their own T and run their own labs; neither is difficult. But the first step is learn everything you can about HRT so you know whether to doc you're talking to knows their stuff or not.

www.excelmale.com is very good but not the only one and there are several good YT channels on the topic

topicals have ~10% absorbtion rate and you have the risk of transferral, but they can have applications to supplement injectables

They are not very good, much better just doing shots. Like mentioned, get luer lock BD syringes. Get 29g 1/2”, 27g 1” and 22g 1” needles

Use the 22g to draw, use the 29g to take subq shots in the stomach fat or use the 27g to shoot in the muscle

You can use gpz services to get them

Once you do it a couple times, won’t even feel it

And you will be nervous at first, first time I did, I didn’t put the injection needle on tight, so when injecting, needle unscrewed from the syringe and I sprayed oil all over the place. I was shaking and moving the needle all around in the muscle lol

Before that I had used hcg subq no problem for fertility

Decided to go that route with trt until I got my nerves under control

Looking back quite funny lol

frick clomid

Had to stay on that shite for a year for fertility

That shite had me moodie AF and emotional AF. Every time one of those stupid arse SPCA commercials with the Sarah McGlofflin song came on I would start crying

frick that drug, frick it so fricking hard, I hate that shite!!

Only thing it’s good for is post cycle therapy and breast cancer in women but frick that drug for men!!!!

Oh and did I mention frick CLOMID!!!!

100%. I now empathize (sorta) with women who get crazy secondary to hormones. I thank my wife often for not packing her shite and leaving. I was awful. To the point where I was fighting with her for talking to her female friends. Unlike me at all, normal Jack doesn’t GAF. TRT jack reallly doesn’t GAF.

injections or compound cream. The rest is trash, so they say. Some people love the compound cream, to me it’s just easier to inject and no chance of getting it on a family member like the cream. Not sure how my boys or 1 yr old daughter would do with getting test cream on her.

For those using draw up needles then swapping to their inject needle, check these out. I’ve been using this for about a year and they’re super convenient

Luer lock syringe threads onto it, withdraw oil, put inject needle on and kaboom. Saves you from having to swap needles and inject a vial multiple times.

The adapter stays in the vial throughout the life of the vial.

Im a fan
