So i got my medial meniscus on my right knee repaired a week ago; it was a bucket-handle tear and the surgeon was able to stitch it together vice take it out. I’m already getting close to 90 degrees flexion (no further for now).

What suggestions does anyone recommend, outside the box, to speed recovery? I have plenty of rehab exercises from my PT; I’m taking collagen and keeping up with my vitamins, Motrin and sleep.

Knees Over Toes Guy

Tore my meniscus two years ago and helped me avoid surgery.

Get the program (pay for it) until you have the exercises down, then cancel.

Backwards walking progressing to backwards sled is absolutely transformative.

A week is still early on, you are still healing from the invasive procedure.

Ask your PT to progress you each session if your symptoms are manageable. Ask them to give a better HEP. The majority of us do a poor job at building a solid program.

I had a bad meniscus tear and underwent surgery. Painful above knee... lower quad and pretty stiff. Pretty active so kept on going. Sometime around 2 1/2 weeks the remaining pain and most of the stifness just dissapeared. Happened quick.

Like the other poster said... your body is reacting to an invasive procedure and is just sore. That will go away.

I’d have to recommend this guy. I’d also dial in nutrition as well as home made chicken/beef stock to increase nutrient intake.

Do what the physical therapist says, do it at home, concentrate on it as if it were a full time job. A good PT is worth the time
