Cholesterol levels are typically dictated by two things: Genetics and overall health. And when I say, overall health, it means you’re doing something to stay active: weight training, cardio, etc.
I ate like trash for a long time and my total cholesterol still bounced around 140-160.
My last work up was 156 total, triglycerides at 75, AHDL at 38 with a calculated LDL at 103.
My AHDL has always been low no matter how much I work out.

I didn’t add a structured exercise regime as I intended to the first year along with dietary changes as I’m pretty active and not over weight - but I began following this board for the past year and I’ve added cardio and resistance training. Will have another lipid panel done in the next month or 2 to see where I currently stand
Same here, in the past year I've become more active and added resistance training. Nothing special at all, but dumbbell exercises that I actually do and some cardio, about 3 times a week. I'm getting my blood work done in 2 months. I came off a statin last year at this time so I'm curious to see if my LDL/HDL went up or down. It been high my whole life but I've never really cared. I'm much healthier now.
