Buy a pair of shorts you like cut the liner out remove the strings, problem solved.

I prefer non-lined, but I have lined shorts also. They are great and comfy when you wanna free ball, but you still kinda have underwear on (liner) so your twig and berries don't fall out when stretching or do certain movements.

GoRuck Training Shorts. I'm wearing their Challenge shorts right now, which are super comfy, but they don't have a liner like the Training shorts do.
Pick up some of their wool socks while you're there too. They are awesome, both in crew and ankle variants.
