Well I would caveat that with doing it the right way if you go that route. If you do a legit cycle and eat/train correctly then there should be zero issues other than just the overall risks.

I would tell my younger self to not care at all about the weight on the bar until you’ve developed strength in mobility. Then, learn and practice good form for every compound lift.
Sure, I got away with lifting with bad form, bad cues, and poor mobility in my teens and twenties, but the nagging, detrimental pains showed up throughout my 30s. I’m still struggling to squat consistently without tweaking my back due to poor ankle dorsiflexion mobility and tight hips.
Longevity is the key to being a successful lifter.
Oh, and lose the excess body fat at 18 instead of finally going on a diet at 38.

Don’t be lazy and don’t let worrying about how weak/out of shape you are from getting in the gym

I would tell me to start before 19.

Don’t obsess with getting big, just worry about being healthy

If you grew up idolizing Ronnie you know this true.

1. You can lift while you’re sore
2. Seek out a decent program (PPSA has been a godsend for me)
3. Watch the beer drinking
