any tips for this? I upped the weight on all of my sets and lowered the reps( from 10 reps to 4-6 reps). I've done this the past month and each time by legs need 5-6 days to recover whenever it usually was the typical 3 days whenever I did the lighter weight and higher reps.

Some active recovery like swimming.

Don’t just sit around waiting for the soreness to subside.

5-6 days? How new are you to training?

Something is wrong.

Sounds like he’s new since a low volume/heavy routine shouldn’t take 3 days to recover.

not new at all.... my legs were complacent with my workout and didnt see much growth so i decided to up my weight on bars. I just started this earlier in June so hopefully its just my leg muscles not being used to lifting heavy again

Back when I would hit legs with a longer routine...

Squat
Front Squat
Leg Press
Leg Curls
Hack squats

Knees don’t like extensions these days so I don’t do them.

Higher frequency lifting for legs will help with soreness.
