Late 30's and haven't worked out hard in 10+ years

Where to even start? Burned out mid 20's and haven't even cared about getting back on the train. Have gone in every once in a while but nothing sticks.
What's a beginner plan for me?

I don't necessarily have a plan to lay out, but would like to say welcome back and hope you stick with it.
YouTube is a good place to start IMO. There are SO many good workout videos on there for free and a lot for beginners.

A basic strength program. Start Here
Read about the different programs. I would suggest you start with the StrongLifts program. I know it says it's powerlifting but will give you a good base to start on the major lifts and teach you good form. It also has a really good app that will help a lot. After 3-6 months you can move on to something else, I suggest the greyskull lp
I highly suggest you download my fitness pal and start tracking everything you eat for a few weeks. After you are used to weighing food and tracking then join avatar nutrition and follow their macros using my fitness pal to track.
The nutrition advice above is assuming you don't have medical/health problems and just want to get back in shape.

First step is to figure out what goals you are going for
next step is to try multiple things and stick with what you like best.
Simple fatloss can be done by nearly any regular exercise you do, but diet it more important there by far.
you like running stick with that and set goals of maybe running 5 and 10ks and such
Same thing if you like weightlifting. Want to get stronger. Powerlifting, Built? bodybuilding, Cut Circuit training.
Riding a bike. There are a lot of cycling groups and spin classes you could try.
When you are starting don't start doing something you hate because you won't stick with it. If you want to do those things later start incorporating them after you have gotten steady at going regularly

What 777 said. I got back into it this past March and have been doing Stronglifts 5x5. I am about to the end of it and will be making a switch soon, but it does get you a good strength base.
Edit - Plus the 5x5 app makes it a breeze to get back into the swing of lifting and tracking progress. I wish all programs had a simple app
