I'm not actively trying to drink that much. I'm not exaggerating when I say if I don't have water near me my mouth turns into the Sahara within 25-30 mins.

If I decided to monitor my intake tomorrow and cut it back to a gallon I would be miserable.

You sure you're not diabetic or something?

Nah. I was concerned it was heading that way before I lost all of the weight. Happy to say I dodged that bullet.

I agree here. Hopefully you had recent blood work done. Congrats on the weight loss, but could be from unintentional ketosis. You are drinking way more water than needed bc it sounds like you are feeling dehydrated. Best to go see your doc.

Yes, it's possible. Because if you drink too much, your kidneys can't excrete the excess water and the sodium content of your blood is diluted and this could be very dangerous.

I browsed this thread a couple of weeks ago and had a thought pop into my head today. While I realize it's nearly impossible to drink too much water to die or have a severely negative impact, is it possible to simply drink too much water for an optimum health level?

For example, I've read articles in the past that claim many people do not obtain the necessary minerals (not sure if this is same as magnesium, zinc, etc.) since they have disappeared from many food sources. I drink a lot of water every day, even if taking an off day with no physical exertion. Would drinking more water than necessary potentially dilute these beneficial minerals from your system?
