I currently have a Camelback Rogue 1.5L pack for long/trail running. I was thinking of changing to one of the vests that hold water bottles on the front instead of just having the reservoir/tube from the back. Any recommendations? Any I should avoid?

I run with a handheld bottle from Nathan. But never the full vest with the bottle pockets and everything. Any trails I run are typically around parks with water fountains, so I just loop back and refill.

I rather not run with anything, but when I do need to bring this, it isn't terrible. The hand strap just kind lets it hang out without having to grip it. Plus there is a pocket for gels and such.

I've yet to find a best thing for toting water. Right now I use a belt that holds a couple of 10 ounce or so squeeze bottles. Not enough for warm day long runs.
I've tried the camelbak-like thing, I hate it jostling around on my back, even when I tighten up the straps.
Sometimes I just carry in my hand a squeeze bottle.
One thing I have done is just leave out bottles on my mailbox and I'll swing by every few miles and pick up the bottle. Then, though I have to keep up with the empty bottle (I don't litter).
There are some available water fountains on some places I run, and I've found that to be beneficial.
I guess the real issue is that I need a lot of water when I run, dependent on the temperature.

I’m using a Salamon Adv 12 vest. That thing is great. Comfortable on

I've always used handhelds as well but am contemplating getting a vest or pack. Any reason you don't like the pack? As mentioned, I'm not sure I would like to have a pack bouncing around on my back.

It's not that I don't like it... it works fine. Looking for a little more convenience as far as refills go while running an ultra. It takes a minute to get the pack off and get to the bladder and it's easy to spill, which is a problem if you are using anything but straight water.

I actually just picked up the BCG/Academy-name-brand of the Camelback pack at lunch. I can't imagine running with it would be fun though. Got it for the mountain bike. Was $20, so if it sucks, it sucks.

This looks interesting. A little pricey. Worth it?

Suck the air out of it, strap it tight, won’t be terrible. I ran down Mt Massive in one and was only slightly annoyed does it have a waist belt?
