How bad are fruits for you if you're trying to cut?

A guy told me to use nuts for a snack if I need one and to try and cut out fruit all together. Is this smart or stupid?

Doesn't matter. Keep protein high and from there eat the carbs and fats you like just don't go over calorie limit.

^ This. Remember it, write it down.

Try to not think of foods as good or bad. hit your protein and then get your calories as you see fit.

I've heard that if you are eating less fruit in order to cut your sugars, then you are doing it wrong. Not sure if that is true, but I like fruit so I choose to believe it

How the hell does that even make sense? Honestly think about it.

Carbs/fruit from sugar is no different from that in chocolate, sweet potatoes, cake, candy, brown rice etc at least when it comes to fat loss.

Glycogen stores and carb ups are a different story but for weight loss it's all the same.

Calm down now Sally.

Perhaps I should have said cut "weight" instead of "sugars". There is a basic assumption that your body craves and needs a certain about of fats, sugars, proteins, etc and you will get them on a regular basis. If you are trying to cut sugars, don't concentrate on fruit, look towards the other things you consume on a daily basis. Wheather that is candy, white bread, bbq sauce, soda and so on.

Would you be okay if I said, don't consume anything with 5g of sugar or more other than fruit and try to eat your fruits earliest in the day as possible?

Yes, sugar is sugar

No I would say all that matters for weight loss is keeping calories in under the amount burned while keeping protein high to maintain muscle. After that eat what ever you want so long as it's below your calorie limit.

Now if you are re talking strictly for health that's a different story. But no matter the diet calories can not be above maintenance if you want to lose weight.

Read the OP question bud. He is debating almonds or fruit. I assume he is pass the point of understanding that to cut weight it as simple as calories in vs calories out.

I'm suggesting in a healthy diet, cutting fruit is probably a mistake. Bc I assume he is eating way worse food than fruit. And not competing.

If he wants to regulate his fruit, I suggest eating them early in the day. But I seriously doubt the OP has such a diet in which fruit is his problem....Perhaps I'm wrong.
