Hiking/camping general questions.
Which makes better “camp shoes”-Sandals or water shoes? I’m getting into hiking mode and I’m trying to plan my annual AT trip. I’ve been using flip flops for years.

It sounds dumb, but Crocs make great camp shoes and aren't heavy.

I used to use like 3 dollar foam sandals from Walmart if I was worried about weight, and Tevas if I wasn't.

I have a pair of keens for hiking, camp, water crossing, everything.

Fresh pair of wool socks for camp if it’s cold.

I used to rock crocs but wanted to shed a couple of ounces and save some space so I picked up a pair of sandals from zeroshoe. I believe they are the z-trek sport but I'd have to look it up to be 100% sure.

It's all fun and games until you cut your foot by accidentally kicking something that shoots through your crocs or open-faced shoes.
