Regular gyms are easy to get bored with. I don't want to sound like a CrossFit pimp, but I'm hooked on it. I started seven months ago, and love it so much that I paid in full for another year. For me, it's an extremely rewarding experience. Some days, I leave there feeling like I killed the WOD. Some days, it humbles the ever loving shite out of me.
And it really depends on the person and what you like. I truly hate Cross Fit with a passion. I did it for a while and dreaded it each time I went. I personally like running and Orange Theory. I know lots of people on this board aren't a fan of either of those things. However, you need to like what you're doing or you won't stick with it. Encourage her to try different things (Pilates?, Orange Theory, classes at a gym, different peoples videos...there are some really good ones online that are free) until she finds one she really likes. Do you have children? It may be hard for her to make time for it without your help. Bottom line...she has to find something she likes and it has to be fairly easy to fit it into her schedule.

She is the heaviest she’s ever been
Look at the actual numbers, even for hard exercise. You will be shocked at how meager the calories burnt are.

this is correct. lifting heavy combined with a good diet and some intense cardio is going to give the best results but they arent the best if you do it for a week and quit because you hate it.

I’ve seen some pretty amazing physical and mental transformations in ladies that train.
I concur. We have several ladies at our school. It is kind of split between the girlfriends/wives of male students and obviously moms of kids from our youth classes that quickly realize the value of knowing self-defense as a female. Very rarely do we get a lady straight off the street that wants to train except for the odd one that wants to learn to fight. The women that do decide to get on the mat are typically all in and do not quit unless they split from their partner or little Brayden takes up baseball.
