Just started watching him as he seemed knowledgeable. Then I see he has his damn feet up on bench press! WHY?!?!?! Zero bracing, shoulders roll forward, and just generally dumb.

barbell bench is known for that anyways but i do agree with what you said too though.

barbell bench is more dangerous as you get into heavy poundages but sure as hell dont want to make it worse by doing what he did either.

Maybe some correlation and not causation going on. What do new steroid users do? Bench press maxes. What do overconfident people do for no reason? Put feet up on heavy bench press.

What do new steroid users not do? Heavy AF DB flyes, Dips, etc.....

Compound movements are more dangerous in general because of the weight, when you get overconfident and just rip weights too quick and without bracing, you get shite like this.

any time you expierence very rapid strength gains you are at a very increased risk of tear due to ligaments not keeping up with muscle strength increases.

only time that is not true is when you are a new lifter as most of the strength increase is coming from inter muscular coordination.

Exactly, likely a correlation from rapid strength gains and having to show off on a new bench press max and not necessarily the exercise that is just going around saying "F U and you get a pec tear and you get a pec tear"

It's not the tool, it's the person. Can be applied to a lot of things nowadays unless you're a liberal. Are you a liberal, lsu777?'

You looking for Bench Press Control?

This is why I force lower weights on bench by setting an 8 rep minimum. Strengthening connective tissue is top of mind for me.

Well in a normal progression, your body will adapt as you get stronger. It's when rapid and dumb attempts at heavy weight is what will get you in trouble.
