Been dieting well and working out with decent consistency since the new year. Most workouts consist of some kettlebell movements and running.

I work an hour away from home, get up at 4 and don't get home until 6. Usually work out when I get home, then it's usually dinner, get kids to bed, and hit the sack myself.

I haven't seen a ton of significant weight loss in this time period. Just wondering if eating then going straight to sleep basically is affecting things? Basic science would say less calories in than calories out, however following this, I am not seeing a ton of results.

Eating before bed can impact your sleep, which in turn will impact the results you're seeing.

Maybe you can move the workout to after putting your kids to bed?

As long as you’re in a calorie deficit, you should lose weight.

As the other comment said though, your mindset, choices, and energy levels may be impacted by low quality sleep if your body is having to digest a large meal while sleeping.

Are you waking up in the night? Having heartburn issues? Feeling queasy in the mornings? Groggy and swollen (like with allergies)?

Those would be signs of poor quality sleep.

I sleep like a rock, usually the meal isn't super large either anywhere between 550-700 calories.

The only other thing I could think is alcohol, but that is limited to Friday and Saturday's only. And it's usually scotch on the rocks 2 drink maximum at night.

Are you tracking calories closely? You are either eating/drinking more than you think or you need to lower your calories

You may think you sleep good but have you ever actually tracked your sleep? if you have a fitness tracker, odds are you can wear it at night and see your sleep patterns. I bet you have a lot more 'light' sleep than you think.
