I use straps on heavy sets because I’m an assbag.

I just do mixed grip for all my conventional sets. I work on grip strength with other stuff. I’m just not overly concerned with how I grip the bar as long as I’m pulling the weight.

I've never dropped a bar because of failed grip strength. I've also never trained grip.
I use double over until over 405 then mix, hook, or straps.
Same here, until my bicep tear from mixed grip. I'll never do it again. It's double over to 405 and figure 8 straps after that.
You do not want that surgery/recovery.

I have become anti-mixed grip now as well. I just do not feel balanced.
Overhand, hook (if you can), chalk or straps.
I am not a bro, so I have no issues busting out straps on the top set if I need to.

I always thought bros shunned deadlifting because it took precious time from chest and bis.

That's gonna be my thoughts now too. I'm not sure I'll compete in powerlifting again and if I do, I can do hook.

Are yall hook gripping while mixed or double over? Just started hook gripping for snatches and cleans and was shocked with how much it helped. Feel like it would be weird with a mixed grip.
