I do have inhalers. Shitty deal on the asthma. Any advice how to start building endurance? I'm telling you, 1/2 mile today without stopping would be tough.

I AM NOT A RUNNER!

So take this with a grain of salt, but it worked when I was in the army...

Do a little track work to get yourself started. Light jog the first lap, then elevated jog on the straight a-ways, light jog on the turns. As long as you keep moving on the turns and aren’t walking, you are doing it correctly. Give that 2 weeks and work up to being able to run 2 Miles (8 laps). Once you can run 2 miles, elevated jog one complete lap, then elevated jog on the straight a-ways and light jog on the turns. Keep alternating the laps, elevated jog a lap, straights and curves a lap for 2 Miles; give this a week.

Finally, just elevated jog for a whole 2 Miles. Once you can do this, get off the track and find some decent routes, adding a mile or so every week or two. I was able to get up to 6 miles like this within a couple of months and held a decent pace. I still hate running...
