COVID Taste/Smell: Any Progress?

Has anyone heard or seen anything regarding remedies to lost senses post Covid? It amazes me that plenty of people are struggling with this, yet no resolutions are emerging.
I have two close acquaintances that are still without taste after a year, despite having almost zero other issues and a mild/short bout with the virus.

Nada.
I had the OG version of Covid in Aug 2020.
Taste came back after 10 days. Smell continues to evolve but not all the way back over 2 years later.
Can smell many things faintly, but, still can’t smell steak or garbage. Skunk smell and nat gas smell are different. Can smell many things but not all.
Weird.

Jan 2021 mild case. No vaxx. Bacon still tastes slightly off. At this point it’s probably psychosomatic. F Chi-na for messing up my bacon.

My sense of smell came in about two weeks and I swear it came back better than it was.

I had covid about a month ago. Sick for 2-3 days and then severe fatigue for two weeks. Taste and smell were gone for two weeks as well.
Doc put me on an antibiotic for bronchitis. I added zinc to my vitamin d, vitamin k, and magnesium regimen. I also did Flonase daily. Everything cleared up pretty quickly after that.
I cannot imagine losing my senses for a year.
