Conjugate Training Method

I've been competing in powerlifting through the USPA the last few years. Most of my lifts plateaued a a few years ago and had not changed much. I started to talk to some friends and research the Westside Barbell CLub and their training methods. I started training the conjugate method and it has completely changed the game. My squat max has shot up almost 20-40 pounds in 3 months. Has anybody else tried the conjugate method and if so, what were your results?

i mean from a geared powerlifting perspective, its the best method in the world.
everyone that has done some form of westside 4 skinny bastards, strong bastard 911, or even 531(if they do the jumps and throws) has done a form of conjugate.

Never done it but Mash talks about it a good bit on Barbell Shrugged. It’s legit from the sounds of it.

I’ve always wanted to do Westside for Skinny Bastards. I always thought it looked bland and didn’t have enough volume to build muscle, but I’m a skinny bastard so it might work.

what? really? you should do the strong bastard program. Its essentially the newest WS4SB. run it twice while hiting your macros and let us know how much muscle you gained.

I’ll have to do it. I’m in the middle of 5/3/1 for hardgainers right now. Covid and new baby caused me to fall from 175lbs to 155lbs. I’m back at 160 as of right now.
I want to get back to 175 by the end of the year.

Conjugate is just a training philosophy. It's proven and it definitely works, but any proven program will work so long as you commit to it. Give it a shot and see if you like it.
Right now I'm running 531. It works for me, and I can make adjustments as I see fit. For example, I'll swap out certain accessories to train for Strongman events.
