How often do you change up your workout?

I'm a beginner and starting a workout I found online. Your basic push/pull workout using the machines at the gym. I figured I'd use it for a month or so for two days a week with a third day mixed in strictly for a core workout.

When should I change this workout and go to another? I had planned on doing this one for two months and then changing the routine. Just working out to stay in shape and be healthier. Not training for the Olympics or anything.

TIA

most of us use properly planned barbell programs so we don't very often. we simply follow the progressions and periodizations of the program.

I would suggest you stop doing what you are doing and starting the greyskull lp or candito lp or 531 beginner prep school and stop having frickarounditus.

We need to sticky your thread with all the different types of workouts on this board.

I am about ready to make a change. I keep changing my rep ranges and exercises, but I wouldn't mind a solid strength/hyper combo and I know you had one in there

I feel like there should be a few general sticky threads:

--I'm new to working out or getting back after a layoff advice thread.
--I've been bro-splitting for a while and am interested in more of a planned approach.
--Keto thunderdome.
--Non-Keto dietary advice.

At least those 4 topics come up at least once a week and a master thread would help sort stuff out.

I change mine up every 3 months or so, sometimes more, sometimes less. As has been stated, it's not necessary, but I get bored doing the same thing. It might be changing up the sets and reps, or I might throw everything out and do something completely different.

I’ll rotate different accesories to keep things fresh, but my primary lifts do not change. Bench, squats and deadlifts are the core of my entire program. That will always remain.

Puttadaforkdown, Daily Strength, Daily Crossfit (yuck) should be stickied as well. I sent in multiple requests but nothing.
