I've got a goal - to see my abs!
I'm not after a 6 pack or completely shredded look, but an athletic buff body would be great.
So performance goals related to this would be exactoy what you're suggesting. High rep burpees, pushups and chins.
- 100 burpees
- 50+ pushups
- 20+ chins
Thats a start.

Thats what I figured. High volume calisthenics seems the best fit for my lifestyle nowadays.

So 4xF pushups, 5xF chins, and lastly 5xF burpees is knackering!
Hope to start seeing some decent results soon.

Pull Day on the rings for me.

Nice, will get my rings sorted out in the woodland next to my house one day
Posted on 3/18/18 at 2:48 pm to numptythrubbers
Which ones do you have
Posted on 3/18/18 at 4:19 pm to SabiDojo
Blimey no idea, they're tucked away in a cupboard somewhere. The floor and a pullup bar is serving me well for all I need right now

Hey how many work sets should I complete per exercise in the workout? I have started with your suggested 3xF, and already progressed to 5xF.
My plan was to keep adding sets, as the high volume approach seems to be doing wonders for hypertrophy.
I think in your previous post you recommended working up to 10 sets to failure, then to start bringing reps down by adding weight/using progressions etc.

10 sets. But when you add weights depends on if you are able to do the following
15 bw chins
80 pushups in 2 min
From there we add weight or use rings and start working towards the greyskull challenges for those lifts.

Why progress from bw chins at 15-20 reps but pushups not until A LOT higher reps?

You start running into a wall and a return on investment on the chins way before you do on the pushups. Also tendinitis issues.
Also we are trying to compete the challenges. That's the performance goals we are looking for.
Also think about the leverages. On chins, you are doing 95+% of bodyweight. Pushups is more like 60-70% if that. You can push the level of pushup reps further because of this.

I got my rings set up and I am excited about getting started. How often do tall do them? Do you do a few each day or each workout or set aside and entire workout for them?

3 days a week doing the iron cross program in my bodyweight folder.
Do it after the two main lifts.

That looks great. However, why does it not give number of reps or how long to hold positions?
Posted on 3/26/18 at 10:21 am to arktiger28
10-20 sec for mastery for holds. Look at the end of the book, I believe it gives you some guidance.

So I tried it this morning and I think it is perfect. I'll be continuing the Greyskull progression on the main lifts with The Iron Cross added after. Do you think that with a couple of the villain challenges would be a good plan? Also, I have really enjoyed progressing on weighted chins and farmers carries. I would prefer to keep those going. Where would they best fit or should I not do those for the time being. Thanks for the help.
