Calf strain

Pulled my calf running this morning. Have been doing HITT twice a week and 1 long run a week. This morning did my usual dynamic warm up and about half mile into my run I felt a pull in my calf. I have had these before and seem to take a few weeks to recover for me. It is just frustrating. Any other advise to keep this from occurring? I am getting older at 34 years of age this seems to be happening more frequently. Thanks

Use some voodoo floss bands on your bad calf
Edit: after and in between your runs

The key word I saw was morning. People tend to be more dehydrated in the mornings. Might have something to do with it. I had this issue a while back and calf sleeves seemed to help me along with a lot of stretching on off days. Don't rush back, will make it worse

Done this a couple of times. Stretching and roll it out when you can. Stay hydrated like a previous poster said. Getting older sucks man. Took about 3-5 weeks before I could run on it again more than a 1/2 mile or so. Luckily I was still able to do HIIT and my rower.

I really like the Voodoo Floss, as previously mentioned. The Rumble Roller is awesome to smash out as well.
You need to get this fixed, the statement above is what often accompanies a mid-30's Achilles rupture.
Do you typically wear lots of raised-heel shoes? Even doing basic walking barefoot can help.
Smash, floss, and stretch like it's your job. 3x/day minimum.
