Outside the usual rest, ice etc

Any stretching techniques that can help?

find a good PT that does dry needling w/ electro-stim is the best way. I would highly recommend this, if you can get a rec on someone that works particularly with athletes this will be your best bet. Otherwise, RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) + judicious use of NSAIDs (make sure you don't have any contraindications to NSAID and pay attention to your hydration while taking.

Don't discount the anti-inflammatory value of consistent icing (crushed or pellet ice in a zipper bag, applied to the affected area over thin, dry fabric), 20 minutes on, 40 minutes off at least several cycles a day.

Thanks

Not totally sure how i even hurt it tbh, it’s just kind of a nagging strain feeling in my right calf for a couple months. I do enjoy a good run so I’ve had to stop for now.

What pisses me off is it’s flaring up when i have sex don’t want to have to take an extended break from that

Well, you damn sure better get it fixed!. I've had fairly significant calf strains/tears with significant bruising and both times from tennis in the cold weather time of year without proper stretching going out there. I'll add that I'm an MD, so it was easy for me to do a self referral for a PT - some locales require MD referral and some don't, just so you know. I think that either has changed or is changing in most places.

This. Also, a good slant board for calf stretching would be good along with a TheraGun.

Get a slant board and make sure you stretch with knee straight and separately with knee bent a little to get a good stretch on both the gastroc and soleus.

1.) Rumble Roller

2.) Zensah Compression Sleeves

3.) Frequent Slantboard work
