I live in the NW Chicago suburbs and for much of the winter it’s impossible to run outside due to snow/ice.

I’ve ran on a Woodway but never on the Trueform Trainer or Assault Air Runner. For those that have run on both, how noticeable is the lack of incline in the Trueform Trainer vs Air Runner? Will it really train you to run more efficiently over time?

Eta: Also saw Rogue just partnered with Woodway, however I think their rounded rails would make it very difficult to jump on/off during all out sprints.

I use the assault runner. I don’t know if it’s training me to run properly, but I’d I don’t run a certain way, I’ll fall off that mother fricker.

I was using the Matrix S Drive that my gym had and nobody touched. It was legit, but I did more HIIT and sled push type things on it.

I was in a similar boat to you (live in OH, don't want to run outside on ice) so I started looking into the assault trainers. From what I read, a lot of people reported that running on an assault trainer does not translate as well to running on road as a traditional treadmill. I run a few races per year, along with a lot of trail running in the spring/fall with a running group, so I opted for a traditional treadmill. I bought the Sole F80 and have been happy with it.

We have an assault runner at our gym. I can’t compare it to other brands, but I like it. It’s less impactful on the feet than a normal treadmill. It makes me not mind running.

That’s shocking. I would have thought the opposite.

I have toddlers so I don’t think I’d get a motorized treadmill. Too dangerous.

It’s lower impact but will wreck your calves

Tru Grit will have a deal for free shipping and military discount for $1450 to your door.

Assault will be $2999

True Form is expensive AF
