I've been on Mounjaro. I'm on week 16 and down 60lbs as of today. Was on 2 different BP medicines and was still running about 135-145 / 90 -100. Had to stop taking them because BP was getting too low. Without meds it's been 115ish over 80. Doc looked back on my records and this is the first time I've been under 275 since 2012. A lot of people like to demonize it for whatever reason but I think it has literally saved my life.

See a specialized weight loss doc.
The medicine is working to treat your disease. Would you stop taking heart disease medicine because it has successfully kept you from having a cardiac event for some period of time?
I’m not saying you should or should not try to get off the medicine. You should see a weight loss specialist to evaluate your specific case and advise you accordingly. MD followed by DABOM and ASMBS is what you should look for.

I didn't want to create a new topic, but do you have any resources that go in depth in explaining and discussing the different peptides out there?

I used to blow these meds off, thinking I could lose weight the old fashioned way-cutting portion sizes, gym etc.
Bottom line for me, I'm 52, 6'1 and weighing in around 255, I've become a fatty as most of my fat is in my abdomen. For comparison, when I left active duty Army in 05ish, I was 185. Around 2010, I went back to nursing school, gained a bunch of weight, and hovered around 220-225. In the last year or so, my weight has just gone crazy. I cut my pop consumption to maybe 1-2 per week, try to drink water, walk daily. Due to neck issues I have to be careful about heavy lifting.
I'm really considering asking my primary care doc if I can go on Wegovy for a year to kickstart weight loss. Mostly for the secondary effects of my weight gain-hypertension, sleep apnea, etc. A1C was within normal range, but that was two years ago.
As an RN, I've seen people get some very good results on these medications, however there needs to be a caveat that GLP-1 medications are a tool, and not the end all , be all to weight loss.

This is such a dumb, short sided take.
My SO who has diabetes is now completely off of injectable insulin because of Oxempic. Despite watching his diet and exercising, he struggled with "foot on the floor" syndrome with high sugar in the mornings after getting up and keeping it low throughout the day.
His numbers are fantastic. He no longer has to use his CPAP machine. He is also walking 6-7 miles a day where he struggled to do so before due to his sugar being erratic at best. He's in a much better health situation than he was before when he was on injectable insulin.

Congratulations to your SO, that's pretty awesome. There needs to be a more nuanced view at weight loss other than "more water, lift weights." The body, especially as we age and undergo metabolic changes, is a little more complicated than that.
Not to mention, genetics, especially in males, has a big role in weight gain.
