Anyone had a sports hernia

I’m trying not to freak out but I’ve been tender on the left side of my abs for a week or two
I only feel it randomly or when I feel around. It’s about 3 inches above the left hip bone
I lift 4x a week, do abs daily and run/yoga twice
Not sure how to tell if it’s a hernia or oblique strain
Btw my lifts and performance have been good. No affect on that

I have a small umbilical hernia that I know came from straining whilst weight training. It bulges just a tad but sometimes might hurt just a tad. I have my annual physical in 2 weeks so my doc can advise me.

I had surgery last year on two inguinal hernias... from experience it got worse and worse the more i lifted to where eventually i couldnt lift anything over 20lbs.
Could possibly just be a strain but if you feel bulge/burning sensation typically on push exercises then its most likely a hernia. You can probably hold off on seeing doctor until it gets worse, i went see mine when they first happened and he basically told me that i could continue to do everything and put off surgery until it became a problem for me. Hope this helps

I’m currently dealing with a sports hernia I’ve had since September, ran 100 ultra with it in February, but it eventually broke me. Had an MRI last week, about to schedule surgery. A sports hernia isn’t a real hernia, there’s no pertrussion but the bottom of your lowest abs tear off the pelvis.
