official name is adhesive capsulitis. Had an MRI done last Saturday and did my follow up with my ortho doc on Monday and that was my diagnosis. Good news is no tear to my rotator cuff or any other areas of the shoulder. Have been having some fairly sharp pains in my right shoulder very frequently with sudden movements. Got a cortisone shot and prescribed a fairly strong anti-inflammatory pill twice a day.

Just curious if anyone has had experience with this themselves and how long I can expect this to linger around. I know everyone is different, but typical recovery is12-36 months.

“Symptoms

Frozen shoulder typically develops slowly, and in three stages. Each stage can last a number of months.

Freezing stage. Any movement of your shoulder causes pain, and your shoulder's range of motion starts to become limited.

Frozen stage. Pain may begin to diminish during this stage. However, your shoulder becomes stiffer, and using it becomes more difficult.

Thawing stage. The range of motion in your shoulder begins to improve.

For some people, the pain worsens at night, sometimes disrupting sleep.”

The sleep disruption has been going on for a couple of months now and is aggravating as hell.

I've had bouts of calcific tendonitis which sounds similar to Frozen Shoulder, and a simple google search tells me it can lead to Frozen Shoulder.

It sucks. The pain is miserable. I was not offered, and I probably would have declined, a cortisone shot during my last flareup which kept my right arm immobile for about a week. Ibuprofen eventually worked but those first couple days gave me no relaxation or sleep.
