So I have a friend who struggled with fitness and weight his whole life. Saw him recently after an 8 mo gap and dude had lost 75 lbs and looked jacked.

He said failed over and over but credits finally sticking to creating a life change to forming an accountability group.

Said they started off with 16 guys. They’d meet weekly to share ideas… disclosure weight loss ( or gain)…, some would work out together.., some would run or bike together,

By month 6 only 5 guys remained but they all became good friends and all made miraculous transformations in their lives.

Anyone ever done anything like this?
I’m 59, 5’9 230 and gotta make some immediate changes to ensure I enjoy retirement

Have you looked in to an F3 Group near where you live?

I find self loathing works the best in keeping one accountable, but to each their own.

I started right at 3 years ago at 250ish, down to 175-180 now. I changed jobs, got sober, started running, we had our first child, and I was also getting absolutely ragged on every day at work by the guys about being fat lol. In a way that may be similar, but a tad bit different.

I credit my vanity for getting me in the best shape of my life. I looked in the mirror 17 years ago and hated what I saw.

Sounds like a great idea.

Depends on where you live in this state if you will have success finding such a group. NO, BR, Shreveport, Northshore, Lake Charles, Lafayette? You can find a group.

Alexandria, Monroe, Houma, Hammond, Slidell? Little tougher

Towns smaller than that it will really tough to find a group of guys that regularly maintain their physical health while socializing.

I'd say 5'9" 230, yeah the lifestyle changes need to happen. I commend you for taking on the task at 59.

F3 is great, maybe not for some but for most men I think it could be just what they are looking for. Based on the OP's message I would encourage him to give it a look / try and see if it's for him.
