I'm currently doing the Couch to 5K program. The 5K is scheduled for Sept 21st. I'm on track to be ready for it on my current schedule.

Here's my question: What are my options after finishing the race? They have a 10K training program which I may consider, but what do I do to just maintain?

Just run. Get the mileage in at varied paces, but mostly easy runs. Build a good aerobic base. Have one longer run each week, slightly increasing the distance weekly.

Hop in the running training thread beneath this one. Guaranteed results! Ha

Currently, I'm training three days a week. Keep the schedule and just vary the distances?

Of course the more days you can run the better, but I'd keep it no more than 5 in your case. What's your training look like now? Any goal for the 5K?

Is your goal to look good or become a runner? Not that those are mutually exclusive, but you will obviously train differently.

Unless you're just going there to bitch about how hot it is in August. There's enough of that in there already.

Just keep running.

Under 30 mins for the 5k. Just running to keep in shape. I have tendinitis bad in my elbows and a shoulder that pops when trying to lift, so weights are out for me.

If I like the 5K and decide to do a 10K, I have the training program for that. Just curious what the runners do to just maintain?
