Rory/Lowry go early/late with Horschel/Hoge

Theegala/Rai with Bhatia/Young is probably the best other early/late group

Morikawa/Kitayama with Wyndham Clark/Young and
McIntyre/Detry with the Fitzpatrick brothers are probably the two most nameworthy late/early groups.

Seems like poor grouping to put Mcilroy against Tom Hoge, but the field is realllly light this year. A lot of bigger names skipped out. If Rory backed out after the masters, it was going to be really bad.

Very disappointing. Was hoping after Rory won last year and how it springboard him to his success this past year, that maybe more higher profile golfers would follow suit.

They pretty much had to save Morikawa for the opposite side of the times. Agree that it is unfortunate that names like X and Cantlay aren’t there this year. I was thinking there would be a few European Ryder cup guys there but unfortunately this is just a product of poor timing on the schedule

Why is that a poor grouping?

Hoge was 3rd at The Players, 5th at Valero, 14th at the Masters, 18th at Harbour Town. Missed one cut in 2025.

He’s having a great year. Horschel is a bigger name but missed 5 including The Masters. If anything based on their play this year Hoge may have to carry his pair.

Surprised Rory & Shane are only +360. They’re clearly the best duo, but they still have to play well. I think Bobby Mac/Detry could have a shot

Having the Masters followed by a signature event right before it is brutal for the schedule.

Does anyone know what ticket is needed to get access to the covered area with drinks and food that overlooks 17 and 13 on the other side?

Yep, was going to add that but got sidetracked. I'll be working 17 all week, "Gallery Management".

What is the deal with the new parking this year? A gate entry at hole #3? Is that quicker than parking at the Alario center?

There is no parking at the Alario Center this year.
Public Parking has been moved to NOLA Motorsports and you will have to enter the gate near hole #3. There will be shuttle busses to get you to the entrance.

The claim is that the attendance was so big last year that they ran out of parking at the Alario Center.

It is a shorter walk from the new entrance to holes #13 and #17. But, if you stay for the end of a day at hole #18, it will be a long walk back to the gate at hole #3.

They may have run out of parking at Alerio but this is probably another way to make money selling $50/day parking on Lapalco. That walk from 3 green to where the clubhouse, #’s 1/9/18/10 are, is not short.

Those usually sell out Sponsor Parking anyway. Friday to Sunday is sold out for this year.

But I understand. The walk from were the new gate is located to the 18 green is approaching 3/4 mile.

But what a beautiful walk it is. Doesn’t bother me any. I go to a golf tournament expecting to walk quite a bit.

Billy Horschel withdrew and is being replaced by Kevin Chappell. Oof.

Very odd timing seeing as that he was sitting next to Monahan earlier today announcing the Zurich extension.
