Seems like LIV is making a lot of changes this year with new CEO since Norman is out

It's probably there because he's a PGA professional.

Also, I subscribe to his channel, and I have no idea why. I skip most of his videos. I'd be curious to look at an analysis into how he became the most popular YouTube golfer. He's not very good (comparatively speaking). He's not overly entertaining. I usually get more enjoyment from Guy and James. He's clearly doing something right, I just don't know what it is.

That said, Good Good recently signed Joel Dahmen and Beau Hossler. It would behoove a lot of players on the PGA Tour to embrace the youtube space. That's where the biggest growth in the game is happening right now

Damn baws it was a joke. Now, can you please explain how LIV golfers are allowed to play in the PGA Championship?

What do you mean "allowed"? They are allowed to play in the PGA Championship

Because the PGA tour does not run the PGA championship.

He was the one of the only golf content creators in the YouTube space for the longest time so assume it’s more due to that.

He was one of the only guys in the space for almost a decade. He's had his channel since 2011. He has amassed 2.93 subscribers over that time. Comparatively, Good Good launched 4 years ago and already has 1.73 million subscribers.

If you look at their current numbers, Good Good is crushing him now.

Daily view avg:
RS 154k
GG: 310k

Last 30 days:
RS: 4.6 million
GG: 9.3 million

Shiels is fine, but he has the following he does because of no competition when he got in the game, not because his content is so much better. There are a bunch of golf channels that do considerably better than him now.

Shiels is so yesterday when it comes to YouTube golf content. He’s like the Bbq Pit Boys in the Bbq space. First ones on the scene and have now ran their course and people have moved on for the most part. Can’t remember the last time I watched any Shiels content.

no idea how Rick has a following at all... Is he a nice guy? Almost certainly but he's not amazing at golf by any stretch and doesn't offer much insight

I don't know why, but Guy annoys the frick out of me.

Give me the good ole days of Rick Shiels and Peter Finch playing matches at random courses in the UK.

Wasn't this a big reason why Mickelson went to LIV? PGA rules on doing your own thing with promoting yourself?

People can shite all over LIV all they want, but it’s got a much better pulse on attracting the next generation of golfer.

The emergence of TGL makes that obvious.

He was great years ago. He tried out new equipment and let you know what was real and what wasn’t etc et, and was the first to really make content

Since the explosion of YouTube golf he has kinda fallen behind and on the back burner

The PGA tour has involved good good and other content creators that currently are far bigger than Shiels

And the younger generation (and honestly middle aged as well) will still just straight up watch YouTube over either tour. Neither can recreate the fast forward get to the good parts 15 minute max attention span crowd
