Where to get ferrules changed?

So I bought some BB&F ferrules for a new iron set I bought earlier this year and am looking for someone to put them on in the BR area. I called Edwin Watts and the guy who does their club maintenance said he can do it but generally doesn’t recommend detaching a club head and shaft if it isn’t necessary. Anyone have any recommendations?

The club builder said what? Lol. EW is the worst with this shitt. I let club champion do all my stuff. Their stuff is expensive to piece meal but they’re legit club builders in my experience.

Yeah that is kind of what I was thinking when he was telling me. Will probably end up making the drive to Club Champion then

It's not overly difficult if you have the required items on hand. A heat gun, belt sander, and two part epoxy will run you less than $100, and is mostly a one time investment.
That said, if it's not something you feel comfortable doing, don't do it.

Almost…..SW can be affected if you do not reshaft as they were built. Tip weights will be removed in this process. Easy to heat the hosel and pull head…check, easy to clean and prep to reahaft….check, easy to get the same feel and performance without a SW scale and replacement tip weights….impossible.
If you have a set built to D2 SW( pretty standard) when rebuilt without the tip weights,, you may get a variance of C8 to D0 SW.
Still, this can be done at home or by any capable club builder.
I think this is what the guy at EW was probably referencing.

It’s just a pain in the arse for not much money. I get why he said that.

But it’s his job as a club builder lol. People do this all the time and to even make that recommendation is ridiculous. The guy just didn’t want to do it. Brought mine to CC and they took them apart put on my ferrules at minimal charge and got them back in 2 days. Edwin watts is horrible for club building.

ChrisBurky,
Do you do fittings over there?
Manly trying to see what lie I should have at this point.

I think Edwin Watts outsources a lot of their repair, so I don't think the guy has an obligation to do it.
How much did Club Champion charge you?

I purchase a decent amount of stuff from them so they discount stuff but previously about 20 a club for grip and reshaft with ferrules. They also will check loft and lie for me without charging if I’m paying for that above.

Edwin watts in BR can only regrip, do minor repairs, lie angle adjustments, etc.
They can only do so much due to the way the repair room was set up and OSHA regulations regarding ventilation.
Their club repair guy does it “on the side”.
So, to an extent, I understand exactly what he was saying. To make it worth his time, he would have to charge a re-shaft fee. More than likely more than anyone would want to pay, and more than he thought was fair.
I know the guy, he takes on a lot of work, and would not turn down work just for the heck of it…

The new place on Coursey did some work, and regrips for me. Did it all while I waited, and hit a few balls on the sim.
