Damn, are they doing some kind of overhaul? I've only played it once, but it was a badass golf course
Yep. 1 is getting scary. All greens being redone, 7 and 15 are getting major work

Switched to ProV1 from the X last year after probably 10 years of the X.

I miss the green side spin of the X. But the flight of the regular proV1 is much less chaotic than the x.

Spin off....

What ball would yall recommend for high handicap with a faster swing speed?

I'm still a beginner, so I've been easily swayed by price and the "more distance" and "flies straighter" marketing on the packaging. The science of why different balls are better for different players is new to me

Hmm, I may have to try switching. I don’t get a ton of spin anyway.

Sort of depends on your budget, preferences, and what you struggle with.

For the price, I would still point you towards a Maxfli Tour or Maxfli tour X if you buy the bulk pack. They come out to $30/dozen and it's an all around great ball tee to green. You're only saving $7 or 8 a dozen by going with a bottom of the barrel ionomer ball these days compared to that.

If you do struggle badly with a slice, there isn't a magic bullet ball that can correct an open face, but bridgestone does make some balls that spin a lot less. The Vice Pro Air and Mizuno Tour Pro S were also among the lowest spinning balls off the tee in the mygolfspy test for high swing speed

Back in 2021-2023 time frame, Wal Mart would have the "old" Z stars for like $24.99 a dozen where I live. I played the shite out of them and love the ball.

Man, that's a heck of a deal. Wish they were still that price. I think they are $54 now but they run the buy two get one free sale pretty often. Dicks has two for $70 boxes.

I actually haven't had durability issues with the Tour X. Played 16 Saturday with 1 ball and it looked fine before it was gone forever off the 17th tee.

Might be the new ones have solved some durability issues. Back when I was testing them I was reading online that was a common complaint. 16 holes and not much damage is very solid.

Forgot another one I liked was the new Mizuno ball. The RB Tour was $35 and the Pro S was $49 but did the buy two get one sale as well. They are worth a shot at trying if you're still testing new stuff.

X has great spin around the greens. but also has a lot of spin on long shots. so it will penalize you more. in my experience at least

Kirkland, baby!

Just started back playing after a 5 year layoff (kids travel sports). So grabbed a few boxes while at Costco. To me they are the most comparable balls I’ve ever played to Prov1x. I’ve bought more and will play them for the most part the rest of this year till my game is dialed back in. Driving distance is equal minus a few yards. Flies through the wind like a prov. Prov’s bite from irons a tad more is the biggest difference. But short game is close. I hope no one believes me so they aren’t sold out all the time but for $30 for two dozen it’s the best deal out there bar none for what you get.
