I don't have any thoughts on any assessment as I am not a member, but I'd love to hear what this is all about.

They are about to redo the greens at The Links.

They will close 9 holes at the Links to redo the greens. They will use the 9 holes on the Lakes course to have a full 18 hole course.

They are basically going to tell the “Lakes” members to kick rocks or join the club as a full member.

I was told this by a long time member at PP.

I’m a full golf member and havnt received any notice! But heard that they will shut down 9 holes at a time and roll over rounds to the lakes
That being said there are some greens that id personally love to see tore up. But overall they are in good shape for as busy as that place can be.

Well this is not correct. It’s still being discussed to do both greens and bunkers or just 1 of them. Just bunkers would not close anything. Doing the greens will have 18 holes of temporary greens on the Links with some days having to close 9 based on what the construction crew says. Nobody is telling Lakes members to kick rocks or join the Links. The Lakes membership covers the Lakes budget and allows more money to be put in other areas.

The “assessment” being talked about was the lowest cost to membership while keeping dues flatter. That’s under discussion as well.

Pelican is looking at Billy Bunkers and Platinum Paspalum greens which nobody around the state has. Greens would go back to original sizes.

Over the last 25 years the greens have shrunk about 27% on average.

I swear if they don't make #7's green larger than a fricking maxipad I'll start looking elsewhere for a membership..

Plus we need a cart upgrade something fierce

What, are you expecting GPS or something for $28 a pop?

Nah, just something that isn't a clunker and faster than the speed of smell... Maybe a little nicer than a 30 dollar a round muni..

But mentioning GPS.. fricking Copper Mill has better carts than a semi private attempting to move to private

They are toned down due to the terrain and wear and tear. 100 of the golf carts are only1.5 years old and new. 16 are still in the fleet that are older which will get swapped out. See the golf professional next time you go.

You might as well do greens and bunkers at the same time since they are part of the green complex.
