I've got two spots left in the bag (currently carry Driver, 3w, 3h, 5-PW, 50, 54 and putter). PW and 50 seem to be my more full swing wedges. Looks like I'll be adding one in between. So I have room for 1 more club. 54 is what I've been comfortable with for around the green and carries about 85ish with a full swing if needed. 58/60 (which I don't have yet) is going to be for lob/sand use. That would round out the clubs.

Impulse bought a 58 degree today as I'd just not seen a Cleveland RTX-6 to match my other wedges and they had one today on sale and I had $10 bucks in points, so it was $109. Then that made me just take the leap and order the Gap wedge for my iron set when I got home.

So wedges will be 44* PW (135 carry), 48* GW (hoping for ~120 carry), 50* (105 carry), 54* (85 carry and feel shots), 58* (lob and sand).

48 - 110 to 120
52 - 95 to 105
56 - 80 to 90
60 - everything else

Did a lot of fiddling with them to get to that. Tried just about every loft from 48-62

Some people use each wedge with a knee high, waist high, or chest high backswing so they have 3 different yardages with each wedge. I think this may be a Pelz system idea.

I am trying to get this dialed in, but when it’s hot I’d rather play than practice so that is on hold for now.

I never go after a wedge full bc it just goes straight up in the air.

Instead of the three different yardages, I would focus on just two, imho.

A half swing and a full swing (3/4 in your case).

I like to make roughly the same swing with my wedges but choke down if I’m trying take a little bit of distance off of it.

Like for my 55 my stock pitch would be about 90 but if I need something in the low 80s I’ll choke down an inch or so but try to make roughly the same swing.

Same thing for 60. Stock is probably around 70 yards but I’ll choke down a bit if I’m faced with a 60 yard shot.

Good method. Other ways to take off distance are you can narrow stance a bit or open club face a tad.

My set PW is 43° (I know, that's a 9 iron ) and I use the set AW at 47°. From there, I go 50° bent to 51°, then 56° and 60°.

This is probably more realistic.

I’ll give it a go in the chipping/pitching area when I get back from the beach.
