Finally set to scratch another PGA Tour event off of my bucket list this year. Me and a golfing buddy just got our plane tickets to WM. We are planning on going to Saturday's round but will be there for a couple of days. Anyone that's been before have any suggestions for the the trip and the tournament itself? NB4 Thanks

Buy reserved seats for 16.

I did GA last year and couldn’t get into 16. Lines for the bathrooms and beers were 45 minutes long.

Won’t go on a Saturday again unless it’s with some sort of box seat

Went for my bachelor party 2 years ago. Best experience of my life.

Friday is probably an overall better day because it’s just as rowdy. There is a dude that sets up at the bottom and takes money for bets for every group that comes through. Only drawback is that you still have to get there early because the crowd arrives Thursday night for the weekend.

Saturday we were in line by 4:30am and ended up with great seats at the bottom. You will probably have to get in line at 3/3:30/4am now to guarantee you get a good seat. It keeps getting earlier and earlier.

Also keep in mind that if you get there at 3-4am to go to hole 16. The first group of players doesn’t even get there til around 11am. So it’s a longer wait than you realize. Hence why everyone on that hole is usually wasted.

I knew we'd have to get there early, but had no idea we would need to get there that early. Thanks for the information. We will be there Thursday through Sunday and were only planning going to the tournament on Saturday. From everything I've heard though it sounds like we may need to try and go one day to walk around and one day strictly to sit at 16.

You say you only did hole 16 in the afternoon? What day? My worry is that we spend the morning walking the course and try to get to 16 in the afternoon but never get in.

Saturday. Had a group of 6 guys and we took turns(3 at a time) in line for about 5 hours.

Is there a way to purchase reserved seats for 16, without purchasing a full package? Everything I've seen must be bought in groups of 4, outside of GA.

I spent Thursday walking the course.

Friday all day on 16 and Saturday all day on 16. Friday was better as I said earlier but being in there on Saturday morning when it fills up is an awesome feeling.

Also the majority of the people that you will are in line at 3am will be gone by noon. They started flowing out because they were so tired

Went a few years back on Friday and gave a security guy $200 to let 10 of us up the exit staircase. He had us mill around and he waved us up in groups of 2s and 3s. Once you get inside it’s pretty easy to find seats together.

Well WMPO week is finally here. Anyone else going? Our crew will be there Friday and Saturday.

Kind of bummed that Phil, Rory, Tiger and Kisner wont be in it. Just trying to make it until Wednesday at this point.

If you are doing the GA at 16. Get there way early like arse crack dawn early or else you’ll be waiting forever. If you get there around 8 you’ll get in but it’ll take awhile but there are beer vendors and it’s fun. We got there late cause we stayed out way too late in the stadium around 2.

Once you are in 16 it’s awesome. It’s just a bunch of drunk happy dudes.

I almost recommend doing it the other way around but your wife is going to very pissed when you show up black out in Scottsdale

Make sure the wives are down for a complete shitshow because that’s what 16 is. 90% of the non locals are on bachelor party and 100% of the locals are on cocaine

That's exactly what we are doing now. The wives want nothing to do with waiting in line to sit at one hole. Now we are bringing the wives on Friday and walking the course and following favorite golfers ..... and Saturdays are for the boys. Me and my buddy are gonna try to get there around 5 and just go straight to 16.

Not going to lie, I'm as excited to go to 16 as I was winning masters tickets. At least this time im going with a golfing buddy.

Does anyone know if you are able to get close to/see the Tiger bolder?

Been to both. The masters is on another level. It’s just the best run sporting event I’ve ever been too.

16 at the Phoenix open is awesome but a shitshow that exceeded my expectations. Everyone is so drunk and happy. It’s a good vibe. It’s sorta like the masters where everyone is happy to be there and no one is in bad mood but without pretense

Oh ya, dont get me wrong the Masters was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. Best run event ive ever seen and the place was so well kept it almost looked fake. But I went with just my wife and I'm excited to see a huge event with a guy I actually play a lot of golf with. It's going to be awesome.
