awesome glad they're back. they were gone a good 3 months for me. my store had them for a bit but never at the sub $30. i've played a variety of budget urethane balls this is my favorite for sure.

Aren't he "X balls" generally more firm?
I don't feel that way. Several years ago Titleist switched and the Pro V became the X and the X became the ProV.
Why they did that, I'm not sure of the reason.
I still believe that the Titleist Professional was their best all around ball for distance and the short game. It just needed a small tweak in cover durability.

Those new Cally Chrome Tour balls are legit. I’m a Pro V1x guy almost exclusively but I’ve played several rounds this year with the Chrome Tour X. I feel (maybe it’s just because I know I’m using a different ball) that the Cally spins more around the greens than the Pro V1x. Just as long off the tee and just as durable. Iron game spin seems similar to V1x too which is why I switched to the V1x over the V.

I bought a dozen each of the Pro and Pro Plus.
We will try them this Wednesday at Meadowbrook Farms.

I play this ball.
The only negative is the striped ones lack the visibility of the yellow ones.
I love the stripe for alignment putting, but I can hardly see them on the ground. Probably my vision, but many friends make the same statement.
Also the paint gets worn quicker than a ProV.
However, I love the alignment aid.

However, I love the alignment aid.
I’ve tried, but the way I putt is all feel, yes that means I’m going to be a streaky putter.
When I go with the alignment I just can’t get settled because my sight line when I’m over the ball focuses very little on the ball, I’m looking at the path I want it to travel. I know my stroke path will be good from a lot of years doing it the same way.

I believe the best putters do this, but I struggle with an extremely dominant right eye which makes me have a left bias. I need all the help I can get.
Combining the SeeMore FGP with the Tour Response stripe has been good for me.
Of course I’m only 2 rounds into the new setup so we will see if it lasts.
I kept the other putter along with several other putters as backups.

Just a thought,
If we could get a ball test thread sticked, it might be of beneficial to everyone.
A tester could state his hcp, clubhead speed, age, etc... anything that might be helpful as he reviewed a certain ball and it characteristics.
One thing that I have learned, what's stated about the ball on the box doesn't always measure up.

I’ve got a launch monitor that can record mine, which honestly I’ve never thought to use for ball testing

hcp 11
speed maybe 75-85mph
age 60(but high mileage)
The only time my ball speed is elite is IF it is headed for a hazard or a boundary stake. Yesterday I had 157 to a front pin at a par 3. Chose my 6 hybrid. Took a great swing, thought “that’s on” then watched it carry the entire green (back edge was 179) into a creek behind everything. In retrospect, it played slightly downhill and next to the lake I may have caught a wind I could not feel at the tee. Just as a check I hit a 7 iron(normally 135-140) onto the back have of the green so there must have been some real wind up there.
Played Tour Response by TM.
Urethane cover so it spin good.
It’s soft.
I like it.

Average stats from Rhapsodo MLM
Hcp 4
Speed (assuming driver) - 100
Age - 62 (more mileage)
Those are with Taylor Made range balls at RTJ. I’ll see if I can get some numbers on regular.
Taylor Made Ink
Callaway supersoft
Srixon q-star
Usually play those, whatever is on sale

The regular q-star is pretty much land and end up inside of a foot from where it landed from 7 on down for a standard strike.
Q-Star tour gets a little zip on it especially from gap wedge down. That can be handy from 7 on up. I’ve got a couple sleeves of those I keep for courses that have really fast greens. A little spin on them can be handy.

Get the PRO or Pro Plus. I like them. They hold up and feel good. I always tend to play well with them
